Wicked Tuna | North vs. South

Wicked Tuna | North vs. South

Pirate's Cove Marina in Manteo

I was invited to photograph the premier for Nat Geo's Wicked Tuna North vs. South at the Pirate's Cove Pavilion in Manteo, NC.  I met the cast and crew which are local fishermen from Wanchese, NC and a few from the northern team.

The show follows these Captains and their mates as they fish off the coast of the Outer Banks for huge yellow fin tuna.  They battle against a team of seasoned fishermen from up north to see who's the better fishermen.  Since the premier was held on home turf, the attending- hundreds of local salty fishermen, friends and families, roared and cheered for their home town heroes and loves the local shots they're used to seeing on a daily basis.

Even Capt. Wild Bill, from the Deadliest Catch, made an appearance to show support and play around with the guys on their big night.  Nat Geo had set up a fun fishing game to add to the competitive vibe.

The Captain's and their first mates were watching themselves for the first time on the big screen along with everyone else!  It made for great reactions from them, as well as their family and friends surrounding them.  Looks like Reed and Banks Meredith from the F/V Wahoo are hackling Captain Paul Hebert, one of the northern fishermen.

Wicked Tuna airs Sunday nights on the National Geographic channel at 10pm.
