OBX Destination Wedding | New Year's Eve

Outer Banks Winter Wedding

Rachel and Christopher met in England where they both live.  Chris, being a strapping lad from Scotland, dressed in full regalia including tartan, kilt and Yoda boutonniere.  The couple had their family trek the Atlantic and gather on the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Carova Beach for an intimate wedding on a sunny, crisp New Year's Day. Rev. Jay Bowman married the couple a top a dune at the Old Wash Woods Coast Guard Station.  Rachel and Chris wrote their own personalized vows to each other,  Chris using his pet name for Rachel of 'sausage' and Rachel to her 'sweets'.   OBX Destination WeddingCheck out those sweet cheeks, Mum!  We cannot pass up an opportunity to show off a kilted bum! OBX Destination WeddingAs we posed for Bride and Groom portraits, the Wild Horses, Corova Beach's long time residents, stopped in for a visit and hung out for a while. OBX Destination WeddingLovely little details abound in the cottage where the couple where having their reception.  Little 'Nessie", no doubt a nod to Scotland, sat a top a delicious white and black themed dessert table.  "As you wish" topped the wedding cake.  A quote from not only the Princess Bride, but also their beloved Star Wars.

Rachel added this gorgeous Luckenbooth Brooch to her bouquet.  It's a traditional Scottish symbol often given as a betrothal or wedding brooch, even added to a baby's clothing for good luck!   OBX Destination Wedding Thanks so much for having me at your gorgeous wedding! Best of luck to you in the future!  Happy 2015!!!  Xx!
