Paul Hearts Ashley | Carova Beach Wedding

Outer Banks Wedding on 4x4 Beach

Paul and Ashley were married this weekend on the four wheel drive section on the northern Outer Banks in Carova Beach.  It's such a gorgeous location, isolated with wide beaches, beautiful white sand dunes, and (of course) the wild horses roaming about!

They had a big get together, with friends and family driving up, or mostly from Virginia, being brought in by boat.  Ashley's family has a beautiful weekend home on a canal, easy access for the boaters.

Paul and Ashley's guests were brought from the house to the ceremony site by a big retro army truck. Fully decked out in plastic patio chairs and buckets with ice and bottled water.  Everyone, including us, arrived in style, with plenty of waves from beach goers.

After the ceremony, the couple left on a four wheeler, with a 'Just Married' sign and Pabst Blue Ribbon cans strung along the back.

We left the reception during dinner in search of golden light, and horses. We found both!

Ashley had a perfect beach wedding dress! So fun and flowy, and not too hot!

Ashley, Paul and their friends are so fun! They had a great dance party that no doubt went on long after we left!

Paul and his friends have a wedding tradition, during "Bro Hymn" by Penny Wise, they lift the groom in the air and pretty much rage hard the entire song.  Paul was swept through the string lights, knocking out bulbs with barley and room to spare.  It was a pretty intense thing to witness.

With a Sparkler Exit and a boat send off, the couple left with a bright blue moon to guide them around the canals.

We had a pretty gnarly ride home at high tide in the dry soft sand that night. Glad I had Robin with me for company, her usual giggly self was very much welcomed in the scarier parts of the trek home.

Thanks so much for having us, Ashley and Paul!

Much love!

Xxo!
