Brant hearts Dana
Dana and Brant had the most beautiful March weather for their Carova wedding at the Wild Horse House this past Saturday! Full of sunshine, but a bit windy and chilly. Just days before, we had a nasty Nor'easter with slushy snow and rain, making the actual drive on the 4x4 beach a pretty tough trek. \
Renee Landry and her team made the already gorgeous Wild Horse House in Carova even more spectacular! Loads of beautiful flowers in different heights and shades of pink and whites were accented with gold and glass holders. Every detail was soft and romantic.
Even though this was Dana and Brant's big day, I'd have to say the celebrity attendee was definitely their six month old daughter, Reagan. Mom, dad, grandparents and even her auntie had the best songs to sing to their little munchkin! These families are so sweet and close with each other.
Glimmer girls did an amazing and intricate job on everyones hair and make-up! We love the veil Dana wore, even in the March wind it held tight!
The guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with signature drinks in fun personalized cups. While delicious hors d'oeuvres by Kelly's made their rounds, everyone had their chance to congratulate the new couple!
We think it's incredibly sweet that Brant had his grandad as his Best Man. He started his speech, "They told me I had to keep my speech under three minutes, I don't do anything in three minutes..". This made me chuckle a bit, as well as their guests!!! The Maid of Honor, Bree, delivered a beautifully, emotional speech that showed off just how close they are as siblings- only 15 months apart!
Kelly's Catering always does a phenomenal job, their food is outstanding and they cook anywhere in their food truck.
Melinda, of Just Desserts, made her fabulously delicious eclair cake decorated with layers and folds of icing in perfect pink and gold.
DJ Don, of Soundwavz, had everyone danicing their fannies off on the very first song of the party, not an easy task! It was a great crowd of talented dancing machines!
Gena Martin, of Platinum Party Planning, and her assistants Danielle and Kathy did a phenominal job planning every detail of Dana and Brant's day.
The bride and groom were presented with the reception area by Gena where they were able to have a private moment to take in all their details before guests were invited in.
We are so honored to be able to share and document this special day with Brant, Dana and their families. We wish you many, many years of continued happiness and lots of love!!!
The Outer Banks has some of the most beautiful beaches in America. (I would say MOST, but I think I'm a little biased.) Carova is gorgeous! So rustic and wild, protected for their wild horses and four-wheel drive accessibility only, it is very unpredictable and very respected by the salty locals who brave it everyday. Leaving the reception was a bit of an adventure for us. Being the seasoned OBX'ers we are, we still had to wait out the tide when leaving the reception. Gena Martin may be a force of nature, but she is no match for the Atlantic!!! The Nor'easter from the week before had left the beach with extremely high tides and a lot of back roads flooded from the canals. Even at low tide, the beach was almost gone -and at night visibility was completely obscured!
Even on these off-road, hard to get to locations with wacky weather days, these amazing OBX vendors can still pull off impeccably flawless service and make the Bride and Groom's day flow smoothly!!!
